UNION FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AUXILIARY
WE WOULD ESPECIALLY LIKE TO THANK THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO CREATED THE UFPD
AUXILIARY. YOU HAVE SHOWN GREAT SUPPORT FOR THE DEPARTMENT AND THE MEMBERS.

SO YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE IT AROUND TOWN
WITH THE RECENT BLIZZARD THAT DEVASTATED SOUTH DAKOTA RESIDENTS, IT REMINDS US THAT WE NEED
TO BE READY FOR AN EMERGENCY, HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO HELP YOU PREPARE:
- Have an emergency kit prepared with supplies such as an alternate fuel source for heating your home,
flashlights, batteries, blankets, non perishable food that doesn't need cooking, a 3 day supply of water,
prescription medications, a battery operated radio, battery powered cell phone charger, snow shovel, etc.
- Winterize your home by insulating walls and attics, caulking and weather-stripping doors and windows. In
addition, if you use wood burning stoves or fireplaces to heat your home, remember to have them professionally
- Check batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide monitors.
- Prepare your vehicle with emergency supplies and follow the manufacturer's recommendations for maintaining
